Our Story

Ethos was born from the belief that knowing how to help someone in crisis shouldn’t be limited to professionals.

I'm Chelsey Michel, a certified Mental Health First Aid instructor with a background in trauma-informed care, homeless services, and systems change. I’ve spent years working alongside vulnerable communities, leading teams, and training frontline staff to respond with clarity and compassion—even when situations are complex and resources are thin.

At Ethos, we believe in the ripple effect of one well-equipped person. We believe in learning with humility, growing curiosity, and fostering compassion—not just in classrooms or clinics, but in offices, homes, shelters, and schools.

This work isn’t just professional—it’s deeply personal. I’ve seen what’s possible when someone has the tools to stay present, stay grounded, and offer real help. And I’ve also seen what happens when we don’t. That’s why I do this. That’s why I believe in Mental Health First Aid. Because we create the world we want to live in, and I want to live in a world filled with compassionate helpers.

If you’re here, it probably means you care. You’re in the right place.

What Clients Say

"This was the best course I have taken. I took a First Aid Mental Health class in 2019 but it does not hold a candle next to this course taught by Chelsey."
